Time To Play! Adventure Playground Reopens

28.01.2022

With its dedicated areas for toddlers and children, the Adventure Playground at Sky Park Farm opens again from Saturday 29th January.

The playground allows children to roam free and generally satisfy their lust for adventure. Physical play allows children to socially interact, providing a natural background to allow their innate capacity for imagination to flourish. Challenging themselves to their own personal limits enables children to test their physical boundaries, improving resilience and self belief. It is an easy way for children to stay fit too without thinking about the physical challenge!

Children young and old can let off steam in the Adventure Playground. With a dedicated area for the Under 5’s and a larger play area for older children, all children can satisfy their lust for adventure whilst our deer look curiously on. Children can scale new heights on the climbing wall, create adventures in the fort with its secret tunnel, venture across the ropes and down the fireman’s pole. The dedicated toddler play area for smaller children has a sandpit, swings and mini fort with a slide.  Hours of entertainment awaits in our woodland wonderland.

The playground was designed by our very own Estate Manager, Dom Strutt, who’s experience includes a pioneering childrens Woodcraft School and 15 years rural land management and forestry work. Dom has a degree Rural Land Management and a Diploma in Bush craft and Outdoor Leadership.

Following a firm eco-friendly policy, the playground has been handcrafted from robinia, a splinter-proof hardwood with a greater density than oak. Work will continue behind the screening on the new Treetop Towers development.

Entry to the Adventure Playground is through the Visitor Centre. From here you can also access the Farm Trail. The Farm Experience is open Tuesday to Sunday, 9am to 4pm. Booking is recommended via our website, where memberships are also available for individuals and families.
