PLAY EVERY DAY AT SKY PARK FARM!

02.08.2022

Playday is the national day for play in the UK, traditionally held on the first Wednesday in August. Playday 2022 will be celebrated on Wednesday 3 August. Fundamental to healthy development, play is critical for well being. So, leave screens behind, get outside and connect with nature to enjoy the simple fun offered up by mother nature!

At Sky Park Farm we have something for everyone to reboot, reconnect and bring a smile to your face. Long summer days and warmer weather mark the start of picnic season – revel in the beauty of our glorious parkland in the South Downs, find a secluded spot and listen to the chattering of nature and gentle burbling of the River Rother. Connect with your senses and let your thoughts drift away.

Interacting directly with animals can bring deep rooted joy – grab a bag of deer food and experience the magic of meeting these mythical creatures – can you count the spots on our sika deer coats? Or see if you can see them frown – a pale V on their foreheads often looks like a frown! Or perhaps let your imagination run wild when you meet our magnificent white deer and create a story like J.K. Rowling who used the mythical white deer as Harry Potter as Harry’s Patronus Charm!

“Role play games can help your child make sense of the world, aid in their emotional and physical development. Outdoor play and nature is beneficial to your child as they learn about the world around them and helps their sensory needs too”. source: Family Lives

Explore our Adventure Playground. Set within a shaded, wooded area of the farm, the playground has a dedicated area for the Under 5’s and a larger play area for older children. Many children have already scaled new heights on the climbing wall, created adventures in the fort, traversed the rope tunnel and travelled down the fireman’s pole. Since opening, laughter has filled the air as children piled onto the swing seat.

Sky Park Farm is open daily from 9am to 5pm over the summer holidays.
