Celebrating English Wine Week 18 – 26th June

16.06.2022

The South Downs is home to some of the most celebrated English Sparkling Wines. A burgeoning industry, there are now 577 vineyards across the UK – with 152 of these in the South East alone.

The success of sparkling wine in the South Downs owes its success to the chalky soils and climate. Grapes have been growing in the area since Roman times. Growers expertise, perfect climate and excellent soil combine to deliver award winning sparkling vintages from across the region.

At Sky Park Farm we are passionate about our local suppliers – and with our unique location in the South Downs we are blessed with excellence in wines from across the region. Increasingly recognised on the global stage, 2022 has seen one of our local sparkling wine suppliers, Tinwood Estate, winning gold and silver awards from the International Wine and Spirits Challenge (IWSC), International Wine Challenge (IWC) and Decanter World Wine Awards (DWWA) for their Blanc de Blanc and Estate Brut .

“When we planted our vines here on the family farm 15 years ago, we never dreamt that we would be winning Gold medals in one of the world’s largest wine competitions, not just once but twice in the same month,” said Art Tukker, Tinwood Estate’s boss.

British sparkling wines including Tinwood Estate, Exton Park, Hambledon, Wiston Estate and Roebuck Estates can be found across our menus in The Grazing Rooms and in our Farm Shop.
