Basket Weaving Workshop & Lunch

Naturally creative and environmentally conscious, Catherine Beaumont has been creating beautiful baskets for over 25 years having learned the traditional art from a local, second generation basket maker. Using locally sourced willow (and some from Somerset) and coppice Catherine will demonstrate and help you produce either a willow basket with traditional border and handle or a contemporary asymmetric willow or hazel basket with a wooden handle. Using traditional techniques combined with professional tips the course will be fun and insightful and is suitable for total beginners or those who would like to develop shaping techniques and different weaves. The day will start at 9.30 (arrival from 9am) until 17.30 and includes a two course lunch in The Grazing Rooms.
